If you've ever felt like other therapists didn't quite *get* your relationship — we probably do.
What Brings Couples to Us
Communication breakdown
You're not fighting about the dishes. You're fighting about feeling unheard, dismissed, or misunderstood. We help you figure out what's actually happening and build new ways of getting through to each other.
Growing apart
You love each other, but something has shifted. Reconnecting takes more than a date night — it takes understanding what disconnected you in the first place.
Trust and infidelity
Whether it's a full betrayal or a slow erosion of trust, rebuilding is possible. It takes honesty, patience, and a therapist who won't take sides.
Intimacy and sex
Low desire, mismatched libidos, intimacy that's disappeared — these are common and treatable. We bring sex therapy expertise into couples work in a way most counsellors don't.
Conflict patterns
Some couples fight constantly. Others have learned to avoid conflict entirely. Both are problems. We help you find a middle ground where disagreements don't have to be destructive.
Neurodivergence and relationships
ADHD, autism and giftedness affect how people communicate, regulate emotions, and experience intimacy. We understand this — and work with it, not around it.
Big transitions
New baby, job change, relocation, blended family, retirement — transitions strain even healthy relationships. Getting support before things break down is always easier than after.
Premarital counselling
Build strong communication foundations before you need them. Premarital sessions help you align on values, conflict styles, finances, and what you actually want from this partnership.
Our Approach
Aleesa Sutton, RCC draws on the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) — two of the most well-researched approaches in couples work. But the goal isn't to hand you a framework. It's to help you understand each other at a deeper level and build real, lasting change.
Sessions are structured and purposeful. You'll leave with more than just a feeling — you'll leave with insight, tools, and a clearer direction.
We're also honest. If we see a pattern that isn't serving you, we'll name it — with warmth, but without dancing around it.
